Standard phone ring from the TV

My mom always has the volume up when she watches TV.  And sometimes the old reruns of Golden Girls or Murder She Wrote show she watches will have a phone ringing.  This always makes me check if it was my phone ringing.  You see I use the same standard phone ring that old land lines phones uses.   So it often confuses me when I hear that phone ring.
