Pet Peeves - Carpet fringes

I don't think fringes on the carpet really adds beauty to the carpet.  Those fringes just makes it hard to vacuum the dirt out of them.  And often times the fringes get caught in the roller of the vacuum causing the motor to burn out.  I lost a good vacuum from this.  Those fringes can also get so unruly that it looks messy.   So I ended up cutting them off.  In fact it looked better without the fringes.
