No tears for Gaza

Some Americans and some in the Democratic Party are protesting against the suffering and death in Gaza because of the Israeli retaliatory attacks.  While I sympathize with the innocent Gazans during this war, it is hard for me to be truly sympathetic for them as a group.  Why?  For starters, they are not truly innocent in all of these conflicts.  The Palestinians of Gaza ousted the PLO and installed Hamas as their government.  And who initiated the war?  It was Hamas who initially attacked Israel on October 7. Hamas killed and kidnapped the Israeli.   And now that Israel fought back and showed their military superiority against Hamas, the Gazan cries being the victim.  And if they want an end to the conflict, why won't Hamas return all the hostages for cease fire?  And if Hamas truly cared for their citizens, why would they use Hospitals as human shields?  Hamas is an evil organization who only cared for the destruction of Israel.  And the Gazan who installed them in power are complicit to their crimes.  So this is why I can't sympathize with the Gazan during this conflict.  I do want this war to end and everybody in that region live their lives peacefully.  It is now up to Hamas to return the hostages because frankly, they do not have the upper hand.

Sigh of relief

The Biden/Harris inauguration took place 4 days ago without a hitch.  Joe Biden is now officially our 46th president and Kamala Harris is our vice president.  Perhaps that January 6 seditious coup attempt was a blessing in disguise.  Without it, heightened security/national guard presence was probably not set up for the inauguration.  Then those seditious Trump minions may have inflicted real harm to the president and vice president elect during the inauguration.

Now I can let out a sigh of relief.  Our country is in the hands of a competent leader that will be president to all Americans.

Georgia Senate runoff

Come January 5, 2021, the citizens of Georgia will decide for their 2 Senate seats.  Oh how I wish the Democrats gets those seat so they can control the Senate.  I super hate that Mitch McConnell and I want him to be put in his place as the Senate Minority leader instead of the Majority Leader.  He is an enabler to Donald, an obstructionist of many house bills, a hypocrite about judicial appointments and just an all around douche.  Him along with Lady L (Lindsey Graham) are 2 of the most hypocritical senators there is.  Lindsey is even rumored to have hired several male escorts. The current GOP now are so bad.  They are not even about smaller government and fiscal conservatism.  They are about racism, cruelty to children and subverting the will of the people.

Georgia, vote for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock!

Biden/Harris our new POTUS and VP or are they?

It has been 2 days since the news network has declared Biden and Harris as the presumptive winner of the elections this past November 3, 2020.  I could not say how long I have waited for this and how much anguish and fear I suffered leading up to the election.  It was very long and a lot!  The past 4 years has been one circus show from Donald and his antics.  But now he is on his way out and I can feel at peace again.  Or can I????  Still Donald does not want to concede defeat and continues to spew out conspiracies and falsehood about election cheating.  There is still the nagging feeling that he will do really stupid and improper things up until the inauguration.  And since he has the super majority of conservatives in the SCOTUS, he might just wiggle a judgement to his favor and steal the win away from Biden.  Oh I wish I could see the future and know for sure that he is indeed on his way out.  For now I can rest and be partially at peace.  I will be fully at peace after the Presidential inauguration.  A few more weeks of waiting ensues...

Back when I was not yet "woke"

There has been a lot of backlash with Virginia Governor Northam for wearing a "black face" on a yearbook picture and/or during a dance contest dressed as Michael Jackson with black face when he was in school.  I know now that it is very inappropriate to wear back face as a costume or for any kind of cultural appropriation like wearing a Mexican sombrero with mexican outfit.  But I must admit that back in the 80s and 90s when I was much younger, I was not "woke" yet to know better.  I have skirted at the idea of dressing up as a native American indian with feather on my head or as a Japanese Geisha with painted white face.  I am not American Indian or Japanese so it would have been racist of me to do so.   It seems that it was not a big deal back then.  Or perhaps I was just ignorant then.  So how is being ignorant equate to being a racist?  Shouldn't racism be judge based on willful malicious acts rather than acts out of ignorance?  I am very conflicted on this matter especially as it relates to Governor Northam's past transgression.  Is he truly racist or just did some stupid thing back when he did not know any better?

2 Trump voters that may just as well damned themselves.

Voter number one is an Indian American born here in America but both parents are from Gujarat, India.  So for all intent and purposes, this guy is very Americanize.  He was a coworker and we are facebook friends.  During the campaign and election, he was a vocal Trump supporter.  I would often engage in a friendly courteous debate with him about Trump vs Hillary.  I congratulated him when Trump won the electoral colleges but soon after I just unfollowed him in Facebook.  No point in trying to convince him and I did not care to see his pro Trump posts any longer.  So I do not know now what his stand on Trump having seen the last 2-3 months.  A lot of the white racist Trump's supporters are so emboldened by Trump's win and are showing blatantly their racist disregard to non white people.  So I wonder if my Indian friend in Florida has encountered any racism against him from his fellow Trump supporters who are white.  As far as those racist Trumpsters are concern, my Indian friend is the same as a Pakistani terrorist.  That would be sad but my friend did this to himself.

Voter number two is a temp coworker from Egypt who I found out supported Trump.  He looks Arab but is not a Muslim.  He is in fact a coptic christian.  But as I mentioned earlier, those racist Trumpsters would assume he is Muslim just base on his appearance.  I also wonder if he has encountered any racism from them.  I may not know his well, but it would still be unfortunate if he did.   Again, he did this to himself.

Trump caught lying

I do not like Trump for many reasons.  But one of the major reason is because he is a big fat liar.  Here is a video clip from Jimmy Kimmel show proving my point.  Trump caught contradicting himself and lying about his relationship with Vladimir Putin. I personally feel Trump is Putin's bitch.

Voter's Remorse is coming.

I read an article several months ago by Michael Moore that the angry white male vote will propel the demagogue Donald Trump to the White House.  He was hoping he would be wrong but boy was he right.  Donald won and mostly from middle America.  The more diverse and progressive states went to Hillary.  I feel this election was mostly a protest vote by the privileged white male for loosing their influence in a society that is giving more equal rights for minorities, women and LGBT.  They are angry at the status quo because their ways are changing for the better.  It did not matter that Donald is caught in the act of boosting to be a sex offender.  It did not matter that Donald refuses to release his income tax in fear that his unsavory business dealings will be expose.  It did not matter that Donald does not really know how to run a country.  Facts did not matter.  All that mattered is that they are angry at the politicians and wanted to give their middle finger through their votes.  All established politicians starting from the primaries to the general election lost to the "outsider" Donald.  And the voters did prevail in voicing their anger.  Well this is how our democracy works .  The majority of the Electoral Colleges select the president.

But the sad part of all these fiasco is everybody will suffer from the repercussion of a Trump presidency.  Stock market will suffer in the long run.  The economy will suffer.  And guess what?  Even those who voted for Trump will also feel the folly of their actions.  In fact, I will venture to say that those "red" states will suffer more than the progressive "blue" states.  So the jokes on those who voted for Trump.  Soon enough they will have voter's remorse.

Discrimination from the discriminated: Justice Thomas

The US Supreme court came out with the ruling that struck down DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) and California Proposition 8.  Of the 9 Justices, 2 white male Justices and 3 female Justices struck down DOMA while 3 white male Justices and 1 black male Justice dissent on the ruling.  I am not surprise for the 3 white male Justices to rule for DOMA considering they are on the top of the food chain of our society.   They do not really know how it is to be discriminated and oppressed.  But for Justice Clarence Thomas who is a black man, I would think he should know better.  It was not long ago when he could not marry a white woman.  And ironically, Justice Thomas' wife is a white woman.  What a hypocrite!  I am always very disappointed to see those who belonged to a minority perpetuate discrimination and injustice to another minority.  In fact I hate those kind of bigots.

I blogged about this elderly black woman who discriminate against the mentally disturbed group and about this gay Jewish man who discriminate against gay Asians.   A black elderly woman is definitely a discriminated group and so is a gay Jewish man.  And yet these two are just as bad as the KKK and Nazi.  There is no room in our society for discrimination let alone coming from a minority group that has been discriminated.

Controversial for Facebook?

- Ladies next time the guy you decide to have casual sex with says he does not want to wear a condom, just tell him you wanted to have a baby and hope he is not shooting blanks.

- Ladies, are you looking for a guaranteed lay with a young all American white guy?  Just go to the bars along Wrigley field after a game and act all slutty.

- Considering how Serena Williams has beaten Maria Sharapova for the last 13 times they have played, Maria must pray constantly that Serena would just retire already.

- I bet Serena do the dance of joy in private with Venus every time she kicks Shriekapova's ass in a match.

- When Serena serves an ace down the line, it is consistency.  When Shriekapova serves an ace down the line, it is just like flipping a coin.  It is 50/50 chance she will ace and double fault.

- It is not a shocker that I see many attractive HIV positive guys online.  The more attractive one is, the more sex he can have and that can lead to higher chance of getting STD.  Now I feel better about not being attractive...

- My dog loves every human she meets.  She is like Jesus in that regard.  If only all these hypocrite Christians can be like my dog.

- If that deluded Michele Bachmann speaks for the true will of God, then Maria Shriekapova is as mute as Stephen Hawking without his computer speaking machine.

 - Gay guy who are ravenous size queen bottoms are almost always into top black men as well.  They need a big one for their man p*ssy.

- Do we have to believe in a God to be a good person?  If there is a God, He would be more pleased with non-believers who live a true righteous lives than those who are pious hypocrites.

- If I would rather eat dirt than watch NBA.  Dunno what I would rather eat than watch WNBA.

are the uninsured willing to die?

Those who opposes Obama's Healthcare plan says it is unconstitutional for congress to force people to buy healthcare insurance. Well said. Indeed in our land of freedom, we have a choice what to buy and what not to buy. On the otherhand, if those uninsured gets sick and are brought to the ER, the hospitals are obligated by law to treat them until they are stable regardless of their ability to pay for that service. In effect, the government and those insured covers the treatment they received. Those who have health insurance will received higher bills to cover the expenses of those that do not have insurance. So perhaps those uninsured who refuses to buy insurance, since they are free to do so, should be left to die if they get sick. Why should those who pay for their insurance have to cover the medical treatment the uninsured receives? Where is the freedom of the insured to refuse paying for the uninsured???

All that talk about the government curtailing their freedom to buy or not to buy health insurance is bullshit until the uninsured are willing to die if they get sick. Cause we all know, if the hospital do not treat and stabilized the sick uninsured, there will be more scream and talk about the government not taking care of its constituent.

Uganda's anti-homosexuality bill.

Late last year, there was an anti-homosexuality bill introduced in Uganda. This bill has the following key provisions:

1. Gays and lesbians convicted of having gay sex would be sentenced, at minimum, to life in prison.
2. People who test positive for HIV may be executed.
3. Homosexuals who have sex with a minor, or engage in homosexual sex more than once, may also receive the death penalty.
4. The bill forbids the "promotion of homosexuality," which in effect bans organizations working in HIV and AIDS prevention.
5. Anyone who knows of homosexual activity taking place but does not report it would risk up to three years in prison.

This bill is nothing but a product of hatred and ignorance. It is plain idiotic and if passed, will lead to genocide. There is only one provision in the bill that I agree on. That is the punishing of those (homosexual or not) that engage in sex with minors. The rest of the bill are moronic.

For a nation where an estimated 940,000 people are living with HIV and a roughly 1.2 million children are orphaned by AIDS, this bill will only worsen the condition. If this bill gets passed, everybody will be too scared to get tested for HIV. Be it with the gay or straight population, HIV will spread. And to think that most international organizations has praised the way Uganda was able to effect a decline in HIV/AIDS infection these past couple of years, this bill will only be a step to the opposite direction.

And personally, this bill only diminishes my sympathy to the plight of the African nations. I will never part with my dollars for charitable works that will only help a stupid nation. They can all starve to death for all I care.

Political sarcasm

- Just because President Obama is still unable to undo in 1 year the 8 years of mess President Bush did does not mean we are better off with Bush.

- If it was up for those rich upper class people in government who resist change (the kind of progressive changes Pres. Obama is proposing) cause the status quo favors them, the likes of Rosa Parks would still be riding at the back of the bus.

- Why haven't those who opposed Obama's Healthcare bill have not done anything about our broken healthcare system 8 years ago when they were the majority in Congress?

- Those who does not bother to vote should shut their pie hole if they do not like how the government is run.

- American Tea Party Movement: if it quacks like a Republican, is it one?

Too dumb to be President

Sarah Palin is in the news and spotlight a lot lately that makes the media wonder if she is priming herself to be the next Republican Presidential candidate. The thought of having her as our next President scares the bejesus out of me. I am sure she is street smart and intelligent enough for an average American but she is not smart enough to be our next President. Come on, she is just not adept enough about international and national affairs to be an effective President. She may have appeal and charisma but a good president needs more than those. I am sure the Republican have other smarter guys out there to be Presidential candidate. Not just Sarah. One dumb President for 8 years was enough.

Jury Duty summon!

Last week, I received my very first Jury Duty summons. Now I can say I am truly an American! I voted and will soon be participating with one important aspect of our democratic judicial system, the jury system. I hope it is some high profile crime so I could write a book about my experience when everything is done with. hahaha. On the other hand, I don't want to be a victim of retaliation crime from the criminals I decide against. What a conundrum. haha. I am way ahead of myself here.

I still have mix feelings on the summon. The notion of being paid by my work my full wage for not doing actual work is very appealing. I am not sure whether I would be pleased to be selected or rejected for further jury duty. One thing I don't like about this summon is the start time of 8 a.m. This means I have to wake up early and drive to Maywood on a weekday. Ugh!

State of the Union address.

Tonight, President Obama delivered his second state of the union address to congress. Once again as I sat in front of the TV glued to this, my heart swelled with pride as an American. Seeing the President, Vice President, Senators, Congressmen, Cabinet members and Supreme Court Justices sit in the same room is such an overwhelming sight.

President Obama talked of the changes we need to take to get out of this mess the previous administration got us in. And from my point of view as an ordinary citizen, they are all good and necessary changes. Perhaps I am not too well informed with the proposed changes and the oppositions to it to be a well informed person about the issue. But it seems to me the oppositions are primarily there because of fear. The opposition would rather maintain the status quo and be all complacent about the issues that needs to be done. As President Obama said, we tried it for 8 years and it obviously did not work.

It is time that we all work together to do what needs to be done and not be afraid for change. Change is what he campaigned to do, change is what he is trying to deliver so let us embrace the change.

"I am a hypocrite"

One of the thing about these religious folks trying to block the gay and lesbian from getting equal marriage rights and privileges is the hypocrisy so commonly seen. They often times select what is convenient for them from the bible and disregard what is not.

And to add to this list of so called "christian" hypocrite is the Miss USA runner up Carrie Prejean. She is opposed to gay marriage cause it goes against her Christian up bringing yet posing scantily clad as a model does not? Hypocrites I say!

Miss California

Miss California Carrie Prejean was runner up to the Miss USA crown this recent pageant. Controversy around it claims that her answer to the question of judge Perez Hilton about her views on the legalization of same sex marriage may have cost her the crown. She answered "We live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what? In my country and in my family I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman."

If there is truth to the rumors that her answer cost her the crown, then good for it. First she is not well informed enough to know that we don't live in a land where we can choose gay marriage. She should know that amid all the recent news on Proposition 8 in California where she hails from. And secondly, how can she say "in MY country"? Is she saying that the people who are for gay marriage does not belong in this country? As Miss USA, she should be smart enough to know that saying something like that does not embody the ideals of Miss USA that represent one USA. She does not seem to have a clear grasp on the fact that gay marriage proponents are not asking any religious entity to acknowledge gay marriage but for the state to grant the same rights and privileges as straight married people have. This was after all Miss USA and not Miss Christian USA or whatever. So she should have a clear grasp on the concept of the separation of Church and State. Not smart enough.

Well she has a right to her opinion no matter how ignorant. The judges has their rights to choose whom they think will best embody Miss USA. And it is clearly not her!

Second class citizens

The issue about Prop 8 in California made me more aware of the fact that the GLBT community are treated by our government as second class citizens. I am talking about the right to marriage that the GLBT community are not afforded. Here are just some privileges heterosexual have by getting married.

> Married spouse can leave their estate to the surviving spouse when they die free of federal tax.
> Married spouse have rights to their deceased spouse's Social Security benefits.
> Married spouse can inherit a deceased spouse's property.
> Married spouse have the right with regards to the control, division and disposition of community property in case of a divorce.
> Married spouse have the rights for the award of child custody, support payments and spousal support in divorce proceedings.
> Married spouse can bring a wrongful death action in case their spouse dies.
> Married spouse have rights to their deceased spouse's children outside of their own marriage.

We, the GLBT community, want those same rights and privileges. We do not care what they call it. Be it domestic partnership, conjugal agreement or contract between people who will go to hell. We don't care! (at least I don't) Just give us the same rights and privileges. If the government is so oppose to give us marriage, at least take away those rights and privileges from the heterosexual couple. Now at least we are all equal.
