Now that the 2014 grand slams are over, it is time for me to rank them. Here they are ranked and the explanations for their rankings.
1. US Open. By far the best slam for 2014 because Serena and the Bryan brothers won. Not only did Serena won, she won her 3rd consecutive US Open and her 6th over all. She also tied Martina and Chris with 18 slams under their belt. She is still very much capable of winning slams so my fingers are crossed. And the Bryan brothers won their 100th ATP tour level titles at the US Open. This slam could have been better if Roger Federer won but I am impartial to Cilic winning it. I was just glad Novak lost in the Semi to Nishikori. Novak not winning the title added extra icing to the already very satisfying US Open.
2. Australian Open. What made this ranked 2nd is the fact that Novak and Victoria Screamarenka did not win the titles here. I hate them both. I was happy that Li Na won and somewhat happy that Wawrinka won. I would have been happier if Nadal won but at least he got to the finals.
3. Wimbledon. I'm OK with Kvitova winning but I hated that Novak won. But at least the Bryan Brothers got to the finals in the doubles and they lost to two cuties (Sock and Pospisil). It would have been better if they won. It would have been loads better if Serena and Federer won. Well at least Federer was in the finals.
4. Roland Garros. I love it the Nadal won his 9th Roland Garros title but hated it so much that Maria Shriekapova won her 2nd title here. She only won because Serena got eliminated early. She had no chance winning the title if she faced Serena. The Bryan Brothers also did poorly in this slam.
