Chevy won, Toyota lost

About 2 months ago, I bought a pick up truck.  I ended up buying a Chevy Colorado but what I really wanted was a Toyota Tacoma.  The Chevy was slightly cheaper and I am not regretting my choice.  I also considered a Nissan Frontier because it was the cheapest of the 3 but the price did reflect the quality of the vehicle.  So I abandoned that option.

When I went to to the Hamer Toyota dealership, they were not very enthusiastic when they learned I wanted a Tacoma.  Why?  It is because the Tacoma is so in demand and they know they can sell them anytime.  One sales person even suggested I pay more than the MSRP.  Are they kidding me?  No fucking way am I paying more than the MSRP.  So I brought my ass to the Keys Chevy dealership.  I learned that the Chevy Colorado would end up cheaper than the Tacoma and the feature of the vehicle are better.  Just more high tech.  The sales people are also so welcoming and nice.  I did end up getting my Chevy from the Allen Gwynn Chevy dealership because I know somebody who had a good experience there.  They even gave me 2 grand less than the MSRP which sealed the deal.

So Toyota, you lost out.  I would have gotten a Toyota if you people were not so smug.  Chevy end up getting my business and winning.

Not the time of my life.

I saw the Dirty Dancing on stage at the Pantages Theatre recently.  I don't know what possessed me to see it but it seemed like a good idea when I bought the tickets.  Now I can say that it was NOT a good idea.  It did not give me the time of my life.  Pun intended.  I have to say that after the first 10 minutes into the show, I was just waiting for that "Time of my Life" dance number to get it over with.

The show hardly had any singing.  In fact the two lead actors did not sing at all.  The story was pretty much like the movie version.  The dance numbers were so so.  And I have to use a lot of imagination on the different scenes.

On the positive note, the show did have plenty of beautiful people.  Doug Carpenter who sang many of the songs had a strong voice.  And the number "Time of my Life" was entertaining enough.  But alas it was not enough to redeem the show in my opinion.

I will give this 2 stars out of 5.

Max don't pee at Janet!

I love my two doggies but it is not all fun and happiness with them.  They are animals after all and are driven by instinct to a greater degree.  Their instinct to smell and mark an interesting spot in the grass can be quite vexing at times.  Half of the time while I walk them, they would both be drawn to a particular spot in the grass.  And if I am not watching them, Max would just open his leg and start to pee / mark that spot with his own scent.  And since Janet is shorter than him, she would get sprayed by his pee often.  So I would have to separate them when they start to smell the same spot.  I would let Max do his smelling and then allow Janet to smell it too when Max moves on.  Or I would let Janet smell and pee first before I let Max approach the same spot.  It is bad enough that they sometimes smell like dogs, I would not have Janet smelling like dog pee too!
