Palm Springs Moorten Botanical Garden

We had some free time to kill while at Palm Springs so we decided to visit the Moorten Botanical Garden.  This garden is coined as "The Desert Garden for all Seasons".   Upon arriving, we paid the $5 self guided tour fee which is nothing more than a photo copied white paper with the map of the garden.  The garden itself was small and run down.  The plants are mostly cacti which is not a bad thing but they do not look healthy.  There was a cactarium too with plants inside and it looks just as run down as the rest of the garden.  On the other end of the garden was a Mediterranean style home called the Cactus Castle.  It was not open to the public so I could not tell if it was nice inside.  There was also mini Zoo with some animals along with some potted cacti for sale.

If this garden was free, I would say yeah it can be interesting to visit and kill some time.  But with the $5 fee, it was not worth it.  So visit at your own risk.
