NO LEFT TURN IDIOT!!!

When there is road construction, a 4 lane road is often temporarily turned into a 2 lane as the road crew work on one side of the road.  This allows the road to be open during the duration of the work.  And when the road is turned into 2 lane, the construction crew would put a No Left Turn sign to allow free flowing of the road in intersection.  During this time, there will always be idiots who would insist on making a left turn thus blocking the flow of the intersection.  So even if the light is already green, the cars stuck behind the idiot who is trying to make a left turn can't proceed.  This create more delay and unnecessary traffic.  So annoying.

The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages.

I have not seen Phantom live ever till recently.  It is one of those iconic musicals that has been out for ages that everybody has heard about but yet I have only seen it recently at the Pantages Theater.

It did not disappoint.  The music was just as iconic hearing it live.  The production and stage effects were fantastic.  I was especially floored seeing the scene where the Phantom and Christine descended into the dungeon and rode the canoe over the underground river.   The actors did a superb job acting and singing.  Even the understudies that played the roles of the Phantom and Christine Daae.  I am not sure if I would have preferred seeing the actual actors on the lead roles.  I figured there was nothing I could do about it so I did not let it bother me further.  Act 1 was definitely more entertaining.  The songs in Act 2 were slower and a tad bit boring at some point.  But still I was entertained.

I am glad I can now say I have seen The Phantom of the Opera in theater live!  Next stop, Les Miserables.

Sunday brunch at the Queen Mary.

This past Memorial day, we decided to visit the Queen Mary ship docked at Long Beach for Sunday brunch.  It was one of those things I have always wanted to try.  The buffet style brunch food was good.  It was fancy and there were a lot of selections.  Plus there was a live musician playing a harp providing classic tunes.  It was delightful indeed.  The people dinning were varied in their attire.  Some very casual.  Some in their Sunday church outfit.  The only downside to this experience was the cost.  It was $208 for 3 persons.  That is a bit steep for buffet brunch.  But I get to walk around the ship after dinning and get to self tour it.  That made the cost a little bit easier to take.  It might have been expensive but I guess this was one of those things I was willing to swallow for the experience. Something I will not do again for sure.
