> It is almost always the Public Aid / Medicaid patients who abuse their schedule and simply do not show up for their therapy. They do not have to pay for their insurance so they take for granted the value of having one.
> It is almost always the Public Aid / Medicaid patients who seem to be the most audaciously demanding with their therapy.
> It is almost always the low income uneducated patients who thinks it is OK to get evaluated by one Physical Therapist and get seen for follow up treatments by multiple other therapists. They do not seem to get the concept that the evaluating therapist is the best person to work with their problem.

I deleted JeanBrian8544's actual comment because it included a link which I feel is spam but she did say this word for word:
"Judge not of men and things at first sight"
My response... My judgment is based on years of observation and not at first sight. And I did say "almost always" which means it is not inclusive on everybody.
Just to play devil's advocate, here are some scenarios I've encountered with our patients:
1.Maybe Medicaid patients have no way to get there. Most of them have had to rely on Medicaid provided transportation. True,it would be nice if they could call as a courtesy. But even patients with other insurances are guilty of just no-showing for their appts.
2.Maybe they want to see other PTs because their rapport with the evaluating therapists wasn't so good. And anyway, it's good to be seen by other therapists once in a while to get a fresh perspective. We tend to get into a rut sometimes.
well said ta lani. you point of view is always welcome.
