Help me ID this fish
I am calling anybody out there who can help me identify what kind of african cichlid this is. Or is this even an african cichlid? I remember buying it from Petco and it was classified under assorted african cichlid. Now I am just not sure cause it sure looks like a new world cichlid. It eats live minnows and worms too.

The coloration and spot on the ear mean to me its a warmouth. I have one about 5" and the coloration is very similar, almost exact. Its definitely a north american fish related to the sunfish because of that "ear spot". if you bought it on the east coast, I'd say someone is trying to pull a fast one on you since they are very common and can be caught in almost any lake. Hope you didn't pay too much...
