Pet Peeve - static electricity and charge

When the air is super dry, we easily develop static electricity/charge.  When the dry Santa Ana winds come to the LA area, static electricity becomes a common occurrence.  It is bad enough that we get a mild electric shock when we touch some metal after developing static charge, what annoys me more is the fact that small thread, cloth, plastic or paper stick to us once we develop static charge.  We have to take extra measures to remove that thing that keeps on sticking to our hands.  Just super irritating.
