Olympic, the good and the overrated

The 2010 Winter Olympic is officially over. It was an entertaining two weeks. Here are my top 6 Olympic high moments.

6. American Four Man Bobsleigh gold medalist Curtis, Steve, Justin and Steve. They were awesome with their sleigh the "Night Train" to a historic win for the USA. Good job guys.

5. Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China winning the Pairs figure skating. They much deserved that win. The fact that China ended Russian dominance in this sport clinched it for me.

4. Shaun White winning the Men's Halfpipe gold. And he already won the gold with his first run but still gave us the dazzling Double McTwist 1260 to garner him a score of 48.4 out of 50 on his second run.

3. Kim Yu Na winning gold in ladies figure skating was fantabulous. She is the current epitome of grace, artistry and athleticism. Besides Michelle Kwan and Mirai Nagasu, she is my next favorite figure skater.

2. Bode Miller winning Bronze in the downhill, Silver in the Super-G and Gold in the Super Combined was great. Not only do I fancy his smile and winks, he had shown greatness and new found humility.

1. Bill Demong winning the Gold on Nordic Combined - Individual LH/10 km CC. Another historic breakthough win for the USA in this sports. Plus he is super cute! Congratulations Bill!

And here are my top 4 Olympic lows of Overrated news stories.

4. Lindsey Vonn and her injuries. My friends thinks she is malingering. haha. OK, we know she is injured and still manage to win. Enough already.

3. Evgeni Plushenko and his quadruple jump. Enough talk already that he considers himself the true champion just because he landed the Quadruple jump. The judging is such that it is because figure skating is NOT all about the jumps only.

2. Team Canada winning the men and women Hockey. blah blah blah. Yeah we know Hockey is Canada's past time but enough already. I seriously don't care about them winning.

1. Joannie Rochette's family death and winning the Bronze in figure skating. I felt for her initially but it is just overrated now. Yes, I know she was very brave to skate despite her lost but the bottom line, we all have lost some family member before. Her lost is not any different or special. And I personally think her family lost even gave her an advantage in her win. Hearing about it for the Nth time is just annoying now.
